The day begins with a visit to the former capital of the island Saint George’s Castle followed by a stop at the Monastery of Saint Gerasimos, Kefalonia’s patron Saint and the Robola Winery, which is located next to the Monastery for a traditional wine tasting. Leaving the Omala Valley, you continue to your next destination which is the beautiful underground Lake of Melissani, where you will enjoy a boat ride around the cavern, where the sunlight hits the crystal clear water and fills the cave with an amazing blue light. A further 10 minute drive brings you to the breathtaking Cave of Drogarati where you can explore the large underground chamber filled with stalactites and stalagmites. You will make a small stop for photographs overlooking the stunning beach of famous Myrtos. Leaving there, a half an hour drive will take you the exclusive resort and stunning harbor of Fiscardo and the Northern tip of Kefalonia where you can stroll around the graphic little streets and admire the colorful Venetian builds of traditional Kefalonian architecture.

The day starts with a pick up from your accommodation and 40 min drive to the amazing and colorful lake of Melissani where you will enjoy a boat ride around the cavern, where the sunlight hits the crystal clear water and fills the cave with an amazing blue light. A further 10 minute drive brings you to the to the breathtaking Cave of Drogarati where you can explore the large underground chamber filled with stalactites and stalagmites. A short drive along the Eastern coast will bring you to the picturesque Port of Sami a major Port of the island leading you to the amazing beach of Antisamos with its beautiful crystal water and amazing pebbled beach. A very well organized beach including water sports and great restaurants from which you can choose to have your lunch break.

How we do it.
After a capable number of participants we organize a nice walk thought the town. We can arrange your transfer from or to the villa or you can make your own way to the meeting.

What we will see
We will meet at the entrance of the city at the Koutavos Lagoon, early in the afternoon so we can have a nice walk by the lagoon which is an attractive nature reserve for wildlife that includes the Caretta Caretta turtle and various waterfowl. Then we will walk on the Debossete Bridge which is a stone bridge built in 1813 over the bay of Argostoli in Kefalonia. At 689.9 meters, it is the longest stone bridge over the sea in the world. Then we will move into the heart of the city in the pedestrian road ,Lithostroto. There are all the retail shops but also some special places worth to stop by and see.

As we walking we will meet Voscopoula a traditional sweet factory that produce live in front of you the famous mandola, almond macaroons ect. Next the Kampana square with the clock tower, It’s the most historic square of Argostoli where they burned the Libro d ‘Oro in Kefalonia in 1797 , marking a new era for the local community without nobility and separations.

Walking by the shops there is the Byzantine style Catholic Church dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, Saint Nicholas.

Next to the catholic church walk we will visit the “The Mediterraneo Exhibition” in memory of the Acqui Division, where pictures, newspaper articles and documents telling the story of the massacre are displayed. Continuing our walk we will find pass by historical buildings until we make our next stop close to the central square at the Corgialenios Historical and Cultural Museum located displays the history of Kefalonia, from the Venetian Conquest (circa 1500 A.D.) to the destruction of the cultural heritage by the 1953 earthquakes.

Moving on to the central square and continue walking to the other end of the city with our 2 last stops the Sinks or Katavothres area, where a unique physical phenomenon is taking place and last stop the magnificent lighthouse of Ag.Theodoron where you can take some beautiful photos of the sundown .

Then we walk back to into the center of the city by the seafront and our lovely walk will come to the end and you are free to have your dinner or your drink.

It’s a beautiful walk to socialize, to explore and to have a nice walk up to the sundown!

Leaving from the little port of Zola and sailing through the Eastern coast of the Palliki the amazingly dramatic coastline and unique scenery, lead you to the turquoise waters of Fteri and Amidi beaches followed by the unique Blue Caves. The marvelous bay of Myrtos, the symbol of Kefalonia, comes next surrounded by tall and green cliffs made of millions of white small pebbles while its changing clear waters make Myrtos really stunning at every moment of the day. Final stop in the little peninsula next to Myrtos, is the little traditional village of Assos, crowned with a fortress dating back to the Venetian times. Enjoy your stroll around the villages beautiful houses with their distinctive local architecture, set around the picturesque little harbor with its fishing boats which is also a mourning place for yachts. Assos is also known for its amazing traditional Tavernas from which you can choose to enjoy your delicious lunch.

Sail away from the port of Argostoli and approach the blue – green crystal clear waters, beneath the giant limestone White Rocks, with such white sand, it’s like paradise. Across the Lassi rich beach line you will stop at the small uninhabited island of Vardiani with the idyllic scenery for a dip in its clear blue waters, while heading to the Palliki peninsula and approaching the unique Xi beach known for its soft red sand and surrounded by sediment and cliffs made of white clay. While on the Palliki area and on its Southern tip lies Vatsa Bay. A bay of unspoilt beauty and a golden sandy beach. One cannot resist having lunch at the famous beach side tavern in an excellent setting and amazing fresh sea food dishes. A final stop in the virgin, unspoiled and dazzling blue waters of Platia Ammos. The serenity compliments the scenery and is an idyllic spot to indulge in absolute tranquility, before you return to base.
