It is a summer stone residence outside the boundaries of the Skala settlement of Kefalonia. The residence is located in an unplanned area characterized by steep terrain, solid rock formations and a wild natural landscape.
The way of placing the individual structures on the plot, pool-courtyard-building, in combination with the large openings of the residence achieve an unobstructed view of the sea and unification of the interior and exterior spaces. The use of stone, a basic excavation product of the plot, as the main building material of the external masonry, in addition to the aesthetics it gives to the project, achieves the integration of the residence into the natural environment of the area.
The remote location of the plot combined with the above characteristics, prompts the visitor to experience an internal condition of tranquility that is introduced from outside to inside: light-water-rock-building-man.
The bohemian interior and exterior decoration, using natural and raw materials such as stone and wood, revives the spirit and everyday life of another, older era, bringing fresh features and elements, thus expressing the passage of time in today’s terms. The colours and utilitarian objects that have been used combine distinctive features from different cultures of the world transforming the visitor’s destination into a multifaceted continuous journey.
